Crafting a Smile You Can Be Proud Of
Your smile is often the first thing people notice about you, so it’s natural to want it to look its best. Our cosmetic dentists are highly trained in a range of procedures—from professional whitening to custom veneers—to help you achieve a smile you’ll love to show off!
What Is Cosmetic Dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry focuses on enhancing the appearance of your teeth and smile. While cosmetic treatments don’t necessarily address oral health issues, they require a deep understanding of dental anatomy combined with the artistic skill needed to design beautiful, natural-looking smiles.
At Carolina Smiles Center, our cosmetic dentists take the time to understand your unique goals and preferences—because the most stunning smile is one that’s perfectly tailored to you.
Dental Veneers
If you’re seeking a simple yet long-lasting way to transform your smile, veneers are an excellent option. These thin, custom-made shells are placed over the front of your teeth to conceal imperfections such as stains, chips, cracks, misshapen teeth, and even minor misalignments.
With veneers, you can achieve a dramatically improved smile without the need for surgery or orthodontics. Plus, with proper care, veneers can last for many years.
The process begins by gently reshaping your teeth to create space for the veneers. We then take precise impressions and send them to a specialized lab, where your veneers are crafted to match your unique tooth color, shape, and smile aesthetics. Once your veneers are ready, we’ll carefully bond them to your teeth and make any necessary adjustments to ensure a flawless, natural look.
Teeth Whitening
Foods, beverages, lifestyle habits, and aging can all cause dental staining and discoloration. While these issues may not affect your oral health, they can make you feel self-conscious about your smile.
At Carolina Smiles Center, we offer safe, effective teeth whitening treatments designed to brighten your smile by several shades in just one visit. Unlike over-the-counter products, our professional whitening systems remove stubborn stains and deliver longer-lasting results—so you can feel confident every time you smile.
Dental Crowns
If you have a big dental fracture, after a root canal treatment, or any other cases in which your tooth may be too weakened to function optimally on its own, we recommend crafting a customized crown.
Crowns are cap-like dental appliances placed over your tooth to provide extra strength and durability. This allows it to withstand the strong chewing forces of your mouth. Crowns are also used as prosthetic teeth on top of dental implants.
The procedure for getting a crown starts by shaping the tooth to make room. Then, impressions are taken and sent to a lab that will craft your crown to match your surrounding teeth in both shape and color. While it’s being manufactured, we’ll place a temporary restoration.
Finally, once your final crown is ready, we’ll bond it to your tooth. If any changes are necessary, we’ll conduct them so your crown fits comfortably, improving your quality of life and protecting your tooth for years to come.
Dental Bridges
Bridges are one of the most common and reliable dental restorations.
Missing teeth need to be replaced promptly, if not, the surrounding teeth may shift toward the available space, impacting the alignment of your bite. Dental bridges prevent that by taking support from the surrounding teeth to support a prosthetic tooth.
Bridges typically consist of crowns fitting over your natural teeth on either side of the space, and an artificial tooth to “bridge the gap” in your smile. This restoration restores chewing function, enhances your appearance and improves your oral health.
Partials and Dentures
Dentures are perhaps the most traditional restoration method of the past—but they remain as relevant and effective as day one. For patients with extensive tooth loss, our dentures are a reliable solution to restore the entire bite, allowing you to recover your ability to eat, bring the fullness back to your mouth, and help you feel pride when showing off your smile.
If you have lost all of your teeth, a full denture is for you. These appliances consist of a full arch of prosthetic teeth, and a flat surface that sits on your paladar to gain the stability to eat and speak comfortably.
If you still have some remaining teeth, a partial denture is a better option. Partials are usually removable dentures that replace multiple teeth in the upper or lower portion of your mouth. They rely on your remaining healthy teeth for support, often with clasps or precision attachments.
It’s important to remove your partial dentures at night to clean them and let your gum tissue rest.
